Why founding sites cost less: The first three clients are the portfolio. You get the same site I'll charge ₱35,000 for, at half that; I get a testimonial and the right to write about the work. No other catch.
Why the web app costs multiples: It isn't more pages, it's software — self-confirming payments, a calendar that can't double-book, chat, a dashboard. Every booking on your own site is commission-free.
What a booking really costs you: Booking.com and Agoda won't tell you. Booking.com says commission "varies by country and property type", and the only place you see your own number is the accommodation agreement you sign. Agoda says it is "unable to standardize the compensation level across different locations" — your rate lives in your partner portal, not on any price list. A booking on your own site has no commission at all. You pay the bank to move the money and nothing else: PayMongo publishes 1.5% on QR Ph, and 3.5% plus ₱15 on a Philippine card, VAT included.

Who you're talking to
I'm Jun Rey Ligutom, from Tubod, San Juan. I studied Computer Engineering at Asian College in Dumaguete City and finished the degree there, which is where I learned to count what a page costs in bytes and in seconds.
The first site I built was for my family's guesthouse. Booking sites brought us guests and took a cut of every room — a cut we never set and couldn't argue with. So I built somewhere a booking could land with us instead: the guest pays by QR Ph, the bank takes its small fee, and the rest stays in Kwarto's. We kept the Booking.com listing, and it still works. What changed is that Kwarto's has a name of its own now, not a row in someone else's search results. That's the work I want to do for the rest of the island.
One person means one person: I answer my own messages, take my own photos, and write every line of the site myself.
